Because I join a lot of things I often have to supply an email address as part of the registration process, I often make this public so folks can correspond, the problem with this is that the email sometimes gets siphoned off and becomes included in mass mailings of spam and other nuisance uses and so it can get tedious dealing with that.
I often use what I call "throwaway" email addresses, I have multiple addresses I create on the fly to use for those occasions, I keep some very restricted for very personal use and never use them for public display, only close family and friends.
If one of the throwaway address becomes compromised I simply trash that account and move on.
I use a similar strategy for other things and occasions which I will add later.
Do you have some "security" tricks and tips to share?
