I have run across several of these so I thought it may be a common issue. When laptops/netbooks start acting strangely it is good practice to..
- Shut it down and disconnect the power cable if plugged in. - Flip the unit over and pop out the battery. - Then... while it has no power, hold down the start button for about 30 seconds.
Then pop the battery back in... reconnect the power cord and turn it on.
After that check to see if the mystery bad behavior has cleared up.
It is surprising how often this simple little procedure has put the unit back on track. It is also a good starting point even if you have to do more than this in the end.
With mine, I do this occasionally anyway... as a small preventive measure.
