The magnification of 5x or 6x is most acceptable for a monocular: such devices have an optimal weight and clearly stabilize the picture. At a magnification of 8x, you may already encounter image vibration, and the field of view of the device will be noticeably narrower. A 10x monocular is even more problematic to use.
